1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using MyHutang, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

MyHutang is a personal debt tracking application with the following features:

  • •Track debts owed to you and debts you owe
  • •Record payments and transaction history
  • •Calculate interest (flat, simple, compound)
  • •Set payment reminders and notifications
  • •Send WhatsApp payment reminders directly from the app
  • •Split bills equally or by custom amount per person
  • •Track monthly commitments — recurring bills and subscriptions with reminders
  • •Display a summary on your home screen with the app widget
  • •Organize debts by contact
  • •Generate and share PDF receipts and statements, with ten designs to choose from
  • •Export your records to CSV or JSON
  • •Lock the app with a PIN or biometric authentication
  • •Back up encrypted data to Google Drive (optional)

All data is stored locally in an encrypted database. Core features work offline without internet connection.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use MyHutang, and old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction, use the app only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • •Use the app for lawful purposes only
  • •Maintain security of your device, PIN, and biometric access
  • •Verify accuracy of entered information
  • •Independently verify all interest calculations
  • •Maintain regular backups of your data
  • •Not reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app

5. Interest Calculations

Interest calculation features are provided for record-keeping purposes. You are responsible for:

  • •Verifying accuracy of all calculations
  • •Ensuring interest rates comply with applicable laws
  • •Understanding that interest may be prohibited in certain contexts
  • •Confirming legality of interest arrangements in your jurisdiction

We are not responsible for financial losses resulting from calculation errors or unlawful interest arrangements.

6. Intellectual Property

MyHutang and its content, features, and functionality are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Unauthorized copying, modification, distribution, or use is prohibited.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • •Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • •Correction of defects
  • •Accuracy of calculations
  • •Data preservation against device failure

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • •Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • •Loss of data, profits, or revenue
  • •Financial losses from inaccurate calculations
  • •Losses from missed reminders or notifications

This app is a personal record-keeping tool. You are responsible for verifying all information and maintaining accurate records.

9. Data and Backups

Data is stored locally on your device:

  • •Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all local data
  • •Factory resets delete all app data
  • •Lost local data cannot be recovered by us
  • •Regular backups are your responsibility

Use the built-in backup features to protect your data. Options include Google Drive backup and local device backup.

10. Backup Responsibilities

When using backup features:

  • •Verify backup integrity before deleting local data
  • •Keep backup files secure
  • •Test restore operations before relying on backups
  • •Maintain backup copies in multiple locations
  • •Ensure sufficient storage space
  • •Understand that restore may overwrite current data

11. Google API Usage

The optional Google Drive backup feature uses Google APIs to store encrypted backups in your Google Drive appDataFolder.

By enabling this feature, you authorize the app to:

  • •Authenticate via Google Sign-In (openid, email, profile scopes)
  • •Access your Google Drive appDataFolder (drive.appdata scope)
  • •Create, read, update, and delete encrypted backup files

You acknowledge that:

  • •Only this app can access the appDataFolder
  • •Backup data is encrypted and not visible in Google Drive
  • •Data is not shared with third parties
  • •You can revoke app access via Google Account settings to delete appDataFolder contents
  • •Usage complies with Google API Services User Data Policy

Data Ownership:

Data stored in your appDataFolder remains your property. Backup data persists after uninstalling, allowing restoration on new devices. You can delete backup data through the app settings or by revoking app access in your Google Account settings.

12. Service Modifications

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the app at any time without liability.

13. Termination

You may stop using MyHutang at any time by uninstalling it; no account exists to close. We may suspend or end your right to use the app if you breach these Terms. Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law survive termination. Uninstalling deletes your local data, so export or back it up first if you want to keep it.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes are effective upon posting with an updated date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
